The Sun Doesn’t Always Shine When Out

Artist: Jeffrey Smith

Sometimes there are stormy days when the sun shines brightly.

I cast my net of imperfection among the massive sea.

With hopes that abundance and prosperity get washed upon my empty shore.

The reluctant hope and faith of my fibers are translucent with nothing to show. Helpless I alter my gaze.

Patiently I wait.

I wait.

I wait.

I wait.

Realizing something is amiss I project gratitude.

I am thankful for this day.

I am thankful for this breath.

I am thankful for this sea.

I am thankful for the sun.

I am thankful for this life.

I will ask for nothing more than the constant understanding, compassion, and gratitude life has given me.

The rain begins to pour.

The clouds begin to thunder.

The lightening begins to strike.

I become the beacon of the sun.

I begin to radiate with light.

I begin to project warmth and love.

I have become prosperous in an abundance of life.

I am content.

Candles represent all four of the sacred elements. The wick represents our Mother Gaia of Earth bringing secure, sound structure. The flame represents fire controlling the burning passion within each and every one of us. The essential oils represent water being fluid and flexible allowing for constant change and metamorphosis. Finally the fuel keeping the flame aglow is the last element of air bringing life to the entire process. This reiki infused beauty is blended with lavender, ylang ylang and rosemary to heighten a calming peace over my dream state. I hope everyone is having a lovely evening and sweet slumber.⠀

Quan Yin – Ascended Master, Buddha, Goddess

What is an Ascended Master?

Artist Unknown

An Ascended Master is a being of light, who was once in human form and evolved spiritually to become self-realized. They have broken the cycle of rebirth by paying off their karmic debt through mastering their ego, surrendering to the universe, and realizing their invisible connection with everyone and everything. Ascended Masters can choose to help humankind in their ascended form, birth extensions of themselves in a physical form to help raise the collective consciousness, or begin a new cycle on another planet. As the overseers of spiritual growth, they help guide us, teach us, and embrace us with love and light.

The Ascended Masters created “The Great White Brotherhood” or “The Spiritual Hierarchy of Earth” to uplift and protect humanity. “The Great White Brotherhood” consists of masculine and feminine energies that all glow with a pure, white light. They encourage us to follow our divine life path and soul’s destiny to raise our vibration, shine with our own pure, white light, and allow our Higher Self to ascend. Ascended Masters include Buddhas, Saints, Prophets, and other enlightened beings.

The History of Quan Yin

“Avalokiteshvara: Lord of this World” Artist: Alex Grey

Quan Yin, (also spelled Kuan Yin, Kwan Yin, Guanyin) is the Goddess of Mercy and Buddha of Compassion. Before the 12th century, she was Avalokiteshvara, the embodiment of compassion and merciful lord of enlightenment. He was a practicing Bodhisattva and vowed to help all sentient beings and protect them from suffering. One day, Avalokiteshvara noticed how many souls were still suffering and shattered into a million pieces. With the help of Amitabha, Avalokiteshvara was able to take on a new form with a thousand helping hands of compassion paired with the eyes of wisdom in each palm. After ascending, Avalokiteshvara heard cries of anguish coming from Earth, and decided to relinquish his eternal state of bliss and remain with humankind as an Ascended Master.

Avalokiteshvara is able to assume any form needed to help guide whoever is asking for assistance. If a young child was in need of help, he would show himself as a young boy or girl to create a stronger connection. From these different forms Avalokiteshvara presented himself, one was the wife of a Chinese Emperor. Avalokiteshvara was able to persuade the mind of another man with the power of the female form bringing love and compassion to the people of China. Since the 12th century, China has adopted Quan Yin as the Goddess of Mercy and Compassion.

Quan Yin Today

Today, Quan Yin is the revered Goddess of Mercy and Buddha of Compassion across cultures from Vietnam, to Japan, to Bali. Her name is said to mean “she who hears the cries of the world,” and she extends her many arms to help those whose cries she hears. According to Robert Jahnke, O.M.D. “quan” translates to “perfect.” If this is true, then Quan Yin means the perfect divine feminine. Yin qualities include softness, mystery, rest, receiving, submission, the subconscious, the Earth, the moon, and time. The moon governs our emotions, emotions are linked to the element of water, and the moon controls the tides of the ocean. Quan Yin is often depicted with vases of water, which is the purifying life force of cleansing, healing, and growth. She brings us balance and harmony when our world and lives feel chaotic. Her presence reminds us to allow ourselves time to recover from life with quiet stillness and rest.

Instead of using force, Quan Yin encourages us to flow with the natural timing of life. Her mantra “Om Mani Padme Hum” is said to translate to “The Jewel in the Lotus,” and she is commonly seen sitting in the center of a lotus. The lotus is symbolic of the life path we all go through. It grows in the murkiest of waters, and is able to push through all of the mud to reach the surface to bloom in its glorious splendor. Through all trials and tribulations, the lotus continues on a steadfast journey at a slow pace understanding that in divine timing it will reach the surface.

One of her famous quotes is “I remind you that you shine with the purity of a thousand suns.” Quan Yin reminds us that even though we all possess feminine qualities regardless of our sex or gender, we also shine with yang qualities including illumination, revelation, warmth activity, energy, the sun, and the universe. She encourages us to remain empowered and allow our inner light to radiate and permeate the world with joy and laughter. We all have an inner flame that deserves to be kindled and taken care of to restore our true form.

Healing with Quan Yin

Rose Quartz vibrates with the same energy frequency of our beloved Quan Yin. Rose quartz promotes unconditional love, which includes acceptance, understanding, and compassion of not only another, but of ourselves as well. Self-love is one of the most difficult concepts for us to grasp. It may seem easy to love another, but to love ourselves is seen as “selfish” or “self-centered” when it is actually a necessity in life. If we did not love ourselves, would we wake up every day? Would we make sure the bills were paid? Would we feed our physical form? Would we set up boundaries with others so we remain safe and comfortable? Would we speak up to our personal truths? Rose quartz helps us realize this love we have for ourselves and to take care of ourselves with a gentle kindness that Quan Yin extends to us with one of her many hands. When we take care of ourselves we raise our vibration, and when we raise our vibration we raise the vibration of the collective consciousness. So self-care is literally taking care of everyone around us. Love yourself and take care of yourself because you deserve it!

“Self-love Bath” by Eternal Waking Beauties

“I AM love. I AM light. I shine my love. I love my light.” -Eternal Waking Beauties

Today I have been in dire need of love and care. I can always ask it of the world, however, I will only feel the full effect if I do it myself. So, I decided I will self-love, self-care, and self-soothe. One of the easiest ways for me to do this is relax and recharge with a cleansing bath as I submerge into water. I chose some Himalayan salt and cleansing epsom salt to diffuse my charged energy. I also picked a rose from my “garden” to aid in my skin care, and create a feeling of love and harmony. Finally, I chose red jasper to center and ground me and my Qi, lepidolite to soothe my nerves and anxiety, blue chalcedony to further calm and relax my subtle bodies, and serpentine to aid in my self love and care. I encourage everyone who needs a break from life to garnish your bath with healing tools such as these for a deeper cleanse. ⠀⠀

Card of the Day: The Star

Paulina Cassidy’s “Joie de Vivre Tarot” Deck. Picture taken by Eternal Waking Beauties

Tarot

Tarot has been used as a tool for divination for decades. The original deck was created by the founders of the alchemist brotherhood, the Secret Order of the Golden Dawn, and has never been released to the public. Three members of the Golden Dawn were instructed to create their own interpretations of the original tarot deck. Those decks are the Rider-Waite by Arthur Edward Waite, the Thoth by Aleister Crowley, and the B.O.T.A. (Builders of the Adytum) by Paul Foster Case. All other tarot decks stem from these three utilizing their own symbology and interpretation of each card. Regardless of the esoteric meanings and depictions, every deck has a Major Arcana and Minor Arcana.

The Major Arcana

The Major Arcana consists of 22 cards. They are the foundation of the journey we all must go through to reach spiritual awareness. The fool is the first card of the Major Arcana and is often unnumbered. Each card represents major life changes, integral people in our life, or ingrained aspects of our higher selves. The main phases of life consisting of both struggles and successes are captured in these cards. Symbols in each card give more insight and meaning to the general picture. Whether we feel the Tower of our lives crumbling beneath our feet, or the warmth of the Sun shining down on us encouraging each step; we are being guided with love and light.

The Star

The Star is the 27th card in the Major Arcana of the Tarot. This card represents our hopes, dreams, and desires that we wish to come to fruition. The Star brings us inspiration and renewal as we begin to realize we have been achieving what we have longing for over time. During this realization we become filled with confidence and comfort in knowing we are capable of ensuring our needs are met. This surge of empowerment will be felt within as our light begins to shine with an effervescently blinding beauty. Other people will feel this warmth and begin looking within to find their own. Since we are all allowing our inner flame to billow and overtake the darkness of our hearts, there is a powerful awakening occurring on a collective conscious level. We are all finding paths in our lives that were not outlined as clearly before. These paths are extending from our souls, and our hearts beat to the rhythm of every step we take. We are balanced in harmony connected to our higher, true self which is directly linked to the source. As we open our eyes we are being flooded with an abundance of love, light, and warmth. With this comes compassion, empathy, softness, and a more complacent way of being creating serenity in every moment. The Star is propelling us forward to our souls purpose as we begin residing in our true bodies – our souls.
