A solar eclipse is a time of high energy as the feminine moon places herself in front of the masculine sun. As the sun passionately engulfs the moon in his warm embrace, the moon enhances her own mysterious beauty. The combination projects a profound surge of development and transformation.
The perfect alignment is magnifying all of the truths within and around us like a laser beam stimulating our higher consciousness. The more we reject the natural order of change and timing, the harder this transition will be. Our feminine moon beseeches us to relinquish all restraints of stubborn control as we surrender to the divine timing of life. We are being asked to remain open and allow everything we have been waiting for to flow through us. Our manifestations are coming to fruition as the sun showers us in empowerment.
New Moon in Leo
The new moon in Leo last month asked us to lead with our heart. Now, we are being asked to move forward utilizing the inner knowledge of our souls. Our third eye is begging to remain open, and the thousand petal lotus of our crown is breathing in the universal energies.
Leo has an innate sense of intuition guided by loving compassion. The fixed energies of this sign are not limiting us by cementing us in our old ways, but instead are building a foundation of stability and security. Fire blazes within as our light is one in the same of our masculine sun. Paired with our newfound, solid footing we are shining our innate effervescent light and love as we remain open channels of earthy and universal vibrations.
The Sun (divine masculine: creativity, energy, confidence, universal energies, warmth, happiness, conscious mind), Moon (divine feminine: softness, reciprocity, intuition, earth energies, cool, serenity, subconscious mind), and Mars (assertion, survival, sexual attraction) trine Saturn (boundaries and limitations) and Uranus (progression, ingenuity, enlightenment). This favorable aspect stimulates a lot of intense, masculine energies and pairs them with an intuitive softness allowing for favorable boundaries.
There has been a reoccurring trend with the ability to move forward with a new, inventive spark allowing for many changes. The pairing with the solar eclipse has made these shifts more drastic than they have been previously. We are continuing to discover our limitations and set structured boundaries with ourselves and others leading to healthy ways of being. Both of these circumstances are residing in both our subconscious and conscious minds.
Venus (love, pleasure, values) squares Jupiter (prosperity, growth, optimism) and Uranus, while Jupiter squares Pluto (rebirth, renewal, spiritual growth). This harsh aspect is placing difficulties between love, expansion, and progress. We are being asked to look at our values and evaluate where we want to grow. These changes of rebirth and renewal are not going to be easy, but are extremely necessary.
This solar eclipse really is about drastic changes and these planetary aspects are reinforcing transformations necessary in our lives. These alterations may seem harsh, however, the moment we choose to evolve we will be able to receive all of the gifts the universe wants to shower upon us.
My solar eclipse and new moon in Leo ceremony is going to include open roads, star, and the universe incense opening myself up to infinite possibilities. Each of these aid in the manifestation of my most treasured dreams opening us up to the universe’s prosperity. I will be using white and violet (or lavender) candles to open my crown chakra to the universe and connect me to the source and my own spirit.
Originally I planned on Labradorite, the stone of change and transformation to be my crystal of choice. However, I believe I will be utilizing Rose Quartz more because unconditional love and compassion is going to be needed during these radical times of metamorphosis. I am also being drawn to Sunstones and Rubies that aid in empowerment, abundance, and growth linking to the magical Phoenix.
I am going to focus on the rebirth of myself as I align with my higher consciousness. As I rise from my current ashes with a newfound renewal and revival, I am going to fill myself with a warm empowerment encompassed by love and compassion. I can feel my fire burning, my soul vibrating at a higher rate, and my wings beginning to unfold. I am ready to transform and rise allowing my light to shine and my spirit to soar.
Be gentle with yourselves at this seemingly tumultuous time Eternal Waking Beauties. Allow yourself times of respite and begin to act upon impulses outside of your comfort zone. The universe will embrace you with love and acceptance as you remain true to yourself.
The full moon in August received the name of the “Sturgeon Full Moon” from Native American tribes who knew they could easily find sturgeon in the Great Lakes during this full moon. For them, the sturgeon symbolizes vitality and longevity. They are strong enough to be able to swim against the current to their spawning ground giving us the encouragement and empowerment to do the same. We are being asked to move through difficult times with grace utilizing our instincts.
Other Native American tribes dubbed this full moon the “Corn Full Moon” due to the abundant harvests of corn or maize at this time. Corn is one of the “Three Sisters” along with squash and beans that Native Americans would plant together. For some corn was a deity and for others it was a gift from the Creator bringing protection, luck, nourishment and medicine. Due to these beliefs, corn was often used for spiritual rituals and offerings. It is time to be grateful for all Mother Gaia’s abundance from food to shelter and the rest of life’s necessities such as air and water.
Lunar Eclipse & Full Moon in Aquarius
Lunar eclipses and full moons are both a time of release. Because both of these phenomena are occurring in the sign of Aquarius we are being asked to let go of the “rebel without a cause” aspect in our lives. The worn out teenage immaturity of needing to be right by doing the opposite of what we are told to prove a point and arguing with others over menial disagreements is ready to be over.
It is time to mature in our thought, communication, and behavioral patterns. Being independent is not enough. Right now we need to learn how to become interdependent and come together. We all deserve the best of everything life has to offer. It is important to hone our listening skills to enhance our effectiveness in communication. If our actions are not helping or benefiting others, then they are not actually helping or benefiting ourselves. Let go of all underdeveloped ways of life.
Aquarius is our fixed air sign ruled by Uranus and Saturn. We are at a time of witty intelligence as we exercise our independence. While we exert our own rights and freedoms, we are also being asked to enforce traditions and preserve responsibilities. These traditions and responsibilities are not celebrating holidays nor daily tasks, but grandeur and older.
It is time to go all the way back to our ancestral roots of basic ethical and moral traditions of practicing patience, tolerance, respect, compassion, empathy, harmony, and love. We must also take responsibility of our actions as a whole of all humanity. Giving back to the Earth and preserving clean water and air are greatly needed at this time. Ensuring the care and proper treatment of others, animals, and all life forms is paramount, and our responsibility as the sole conscious life form inhabiting Earth.
Uranus is the planet of progression and ingenuity. It is time for each of us to utilize our strengths and creativity toward new ideas and ways of being for the betterment of ourselves and the conscious whole. Change and progress are necessary as we reroute the path we are on to ensure a better future for everyone. We are progressing the world in a positive way by fulfilling our purpose.
Saturn is the planet of boundaries and limitations. We are being asked to let go of all boundaries and limitations we have built that do not allow us to fulfill our full potential. Now is the time to remove any boxes, labels, or categories that are separating all of us to believe we are so different and not interconnected. These thought processes and practices are creating factions within society when the final stage of maturity is the concept of interdependence – being able to cooperate and work with others. We will not be able to move forward and make changes to be better alone. It is necessary to come together in order to grow with optimum strength through unity.
Lunar Eclipse & Planetary Aspects
Saturn, (the planet of limitations) trines the sun, (the divine masculine: assertiveness, creativity, happiness, warmth) and Uranus (the planet of progression) and sextiles Jupiter, (the planet of growth and prosperity) allowing us to reconstruct the infrastructure of our lives and society with ease. We are more active in the development of our environments as we continue to grow and advance. Fear is being shed as we are seeing the truth of the world around us. Expansion, progress, and prosperity is available to everyone individually and as a whole as we create new boundaries that benefit us all.
Mercury, (the planet of communication and thought processes) opposes Neptune, (the planet of spiritual enlightenment and compassion), sextiles Venus, (the planet of love, pleasure and values), and trines Pluto, (the planet of rebirth, renewal and spiritual growth). The opposition of Mercury and Neptune increases the amount of negligence and uncaring nature in communication. It is important to not allow mind and tongues to run in this detrimental direction by balancing it with the favorable aspects of Mercury with Venus and Pluto. Our creative expression, thoughts and words of love as we uphold our values will help the spiritual renewal and advancement of the collective consciousness.
Deep purples of all sorts will be used for my personal full moon ceremony. I plan on utilizing purple and indigo colored candles including reiki infused healing, harmony, and third eye candles. Dry lavender and lavender essential oils will aid in amplifying calm and balanced energies. My stone of choice for this full moon is Iolite, the stone of realizing one’s spiritual responsibility. It brings joy and inspirational solutions to problems while connecting us with our souls. Iolite is gentle, protective, and unconditionally giving as we work on spiritual healing and psychic development. When aligned with our third eye, Iolite is able to facilitate intuitive insight.
For the full moon paired with the penumbral (partial) lunar eclipse, I will be writing down three major practices I want to release from myself, society, and all of humanity. The three practices I will ask to release are a destructive thought process, communication style and behavior pattern. Once I am done making my list, I will tear it up into tiny pieces and release them in the wind (if there is any) since Aquarius is an air sign.
I hope this article reaches you with love, and resonates with your soul Eternal Waking Beauties.
“I’m gonna be a mighty king so enemies beware!” sang Simba in on of the most heart wrenching Disney classics, Lion King. I know, I know, corny beginning, but how many of us as kids staring up into Johnathan Taylor Thomas’s large, cartoon lion eyes really believed we would be a “mighty king” one day? What constitutes a “mighty king”? Who is this person we are striving to be? How are we going to become this sign of nobility and honor?
Some might think a “mighty king” is one who rules over others and is in a place of power exercising it how they see fit. Others might believe it is how one practices their leadership roles whether big or small through an ethical morality of the heart. Everyone will have a different definition or perception of this term. Even if some people agree on core characteristics, they may disagree on additional qualities necessary; therefore making no two definitions of a “mighty king” identical.
Honor, integrity, patience, kindness, tolerance, love. Even these words we use to describe how one can attain the “mighty” aspect of being a king, ruler, or leader of some sort will have various meanings based on the person who is defining them. Right now we are all learning what this means to us. I believe we are no longer trying to work hard on becoming someone, but are rather trying to express who we truly are by becoming connected with ourselves.
A Look into Leo
Leo is a fixed fire sign ruled by none other than the sun. Fixed signs are oftentimes very stable, reliable, hard-working, and loyal. Fire signs are creative, energetic, and passionate. The sun is our divine masculine bringing light, warmth, assertion, happiness, and outward expression. Leos tend to like the materialistic gains made in the physical realm of life such as career achievements, financial prosperity, the newest and best of everything from cars to clothes to accessories, and express themselves in their appearance.
Leos can range from money obsessed workaholics, to pampered house pets only concerned about their looks, to loving and nurturing caregivers, to kind and generous saints. There is an array of diversity among each zodiac sign. The sun sits in it’s own sign magnifying the strong and lovable qualities of our gentle lion, as well as the temperamental and controlling aspects of our shallow dictator.
In Tarot, we find the lion represented on the 8th card of the Major Arcana labeled “Strength”. Eight is the number of prosperity, abundance, material gain, and advancement in life paralleling that of Leo. Strength is the card that teaches us that forceful, controlling power is not always the strongest form of strength. In fact, strength is also recognizing to be patient, soft, and gentle in order to achieve a goal or make a point, and is sometimes more effective than the former nature. This is seen in lions for even though they are ferocious and powerful as the leaders, they are still there to protect and care for all in their pride. There must be a loving and nurturing side in order to achieve the strength of the bonds formed between each member of a lion’s pride.
The sun, moon, Mars, and Mercury all sit in Leo during this New Moon cycle. Both our conscious and subconscious, masculine and feminine, and positive and negative qualities are being amplified in the light of a Leo. We are finding our strength, practicing our roar, and learning how to be a leader. At the same time, we are allowing ourselves to be nurturing, loving, understanding, and kind with others and ourselves in all aspects of our lives.
Mars is adding an element of extra assertion in our public lives, and sexual passion in our private lives. We are trying to enhance the quality of each facet in life whether work, relationships, or self. Mercury is giving us a fiery or loving form of communication depending on what type of Leo we are projecting.
Right now, manifestation is everything. We are truly in the driver seat on this one. Everything can go one of two ways depending on what type of “mighty king” we decide we want to be. We are the leader of our lives. We are choosing the decisions we are making. We are creating the reality of our perception. Do we want to be the dreaded dictator or revered ruler? We have this choice.
There is going to be a gigantic triangle on the night of the New Moon as Mercury trines Saturn and Uranus while they trine each other. This is going to allow us to set clearly defined boundaries with others; whether communication is effective or not is up to us. Either way the truth about our limitations in the various parts of our lives are going to be expressed.
Uranus wants freedom from restraints and restrictions. This too will easily be relayed – again it may or may not be healthy or effective communication. We are finally asking for the freedom to be ourselves. Lines of communication are opening up all around us to facilitate speaking our truths about what we do and do not need and want in our lives. It is important to be honest and gentle as we express ourselves in order to maintain integrity in our relationships whether with a boss, partner, friend, or foe.
The difficult aspects of the sky are the harsh squares of Uranus with the sun, moon, and Mars. Our freedom is of the utmost importance to us right now. The ability to be ourselves without remorse is at the forefront of our minds. We are willing to fight over our ability to fly by expressing ourselves and savoring the moments of bliss we have been longing to feel.
There is no more room for apologies, but it doesn’t mean that we did not contribute to the folly of our own situations. We need to be honest with ourselves as well and know where we have set up these parameters for ourselves to fail. It is not just others and the outside world that is hindering our growth; it is also what we have done ourselves that lies within.
Ceremony to Shine
It is time to do some real soul searching and realize what is is we truly want and need. We must also reflect not only at what has happened in the past, but how we contributed to manifesting our current reality. This way when we express ourselves to others we can let them know what is truly their part, while accepting responsibility for our own. Continue dreaming big and working toward your goals because we deserve all of the happiness and contentment we desire. Planetary aspects are aiding us in various avenues of communication which is the core of all relationships – even with ourselves. Placements are making room for love, softness, and nurturing during these moments.
For this ceremony visualize what it is you want to manifest in yourself, in your life, and in the world. What kind of person do you want to be? What kind of people do you want in your life? What kind of things do you want to achieve? What kind of impact do you want to make? Focus on three major shifts you want to make both inside and outside of yourself and your life. Ask for aid from your guides in manifesting and achieving your soul’s aligned desires. Visualize your perfect world. Feel what it is like to live in that life. Know, believe, and trust that you can achieve all of that and more.
The tools I would use for this ceremony would be some open roads incense for manifesting after a good smudging with white sage, and red, orange, yellow, and white candles to capture purity, stability, creativity, and happiness. I would also include rose, amber, and lavender incense to bring love, light, and peacefulness to this lunar cycle. My stone of choice for this ceremony would be Sunstone.
Sunstone harnesses the energy and light of a sun in a stone similar to our solar plexus. It brings about qualities of warmth, happiness, and light. Sunstone gives us confidence and assertion as we face various endeavors. Wearing Sunstone amplifies our own light empowering our true form in the physical realm. If you are dealing with depression, loss, or grief, Sunstones are a great “pick-me-up” uplifting our souls.
Our beloved full moon in July is known by many names, but these two stuck out to me the most. The Blessing Full Moon heralds from Pagan roots. This time of year is known for bountiful blessings in the forms of blossoming flowers, harvesting crops, and flourishing herbs. Mother Gaia is gifting us with the beauty of her natural splendor. We are being asked to count our blessings and show gratitude back to the Earth. Slow down to smell a flower, take your time as you enjoy a juicy watermelon, and unearth the secrets of burning dried lemon balm. Also, show yourself gratitude for getting through the first half of the year. There have been fluctuating ups and downs this past week, so embrace the blessings that present themselves.
The stagnant heat has most feeling sluggish and unmotivated. The Buck Full Moon brings about strength and a renewal of energy during these times. The Native Americans dubbed July’s full moon as the “buck” moon due to the stags displaying beautiful, full antlers. Bucks are known to have healing powers and are deeply connected to nature. They are noble, independent creatures with a gentle masculinity. Stags symbolize regeneration due to the fact that they shed their antlers and grow new ones every year. We are shedding everything from our past that we have held onto hindering the progress of our lives. If we harness the qualities of our noble buck, we will be able to endure this shift with more ease.
The sun conjunct Mars in Cancer opposite the moon conjunct Pluto in Capricorn bringing about difficult aspects between our conscious and subconscious. Assertive Mars builds upon the masculine Sun stimulating passionate and intense unconditional love as they sit in Cancer. We are drawn to creativity and mobilizing our ideas into action with the power couple of the Sun and Mars. In doing so, we are backed up by our emotions with Cancer in our arsenal adding fuel to our intensely compelling fire. Be aware of abusing your masculine power at this time, and remember the strength in softness.
Pluto, the planet of rebirth, renewal and spiritual growth brings about great transformations with the moon holding our intuition, phases of life, and subconscious. We are at a time of major shifts globally and within ourselves. As we shed layers upon layers of ourselves, we are increasing our intuition in this phase of life. A sense of renewal from our rebirth will strengthen the connection with our true form. Pluto and the moon sit in the tenacious and responsible sign of Capricorn leading to certain limitations in our subconscious. Capricorns are stubborn when it comes to situations that do not make sense to them or do not align with their values. Being able to let go of ingrained beliefs, thoughts, and behaviors is going to be more difficult as Capricorn struggles with relying on intuition.
Jupiter in Libra squares both the sun and moon to let us know that this is not going to be easy with the planet in luck in this difficult aspect. Growth and expansion are magnified in the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual planes of our existence. Know the changes we are making are for the better, and it will get easier in time. Celebrate each success no matter how “small” or “minute” for it is a step in the proper direction. Remember that even if we do take a step back, we are still facing forward.
Neptune in Pisces sextiles the moon and trines the sun enhancing the progression and ingenuity of our lives. We are strengthening our intuition and spiritual nature. It is projecting into our physical realm in the form of shifts in our jobs, romantic partners, or friendships. We are able to see what aligns with our souls, and are putting it into action in our lives. Follow your heart, your passion, your dreams without hesitation. It is time to stand by your higher self and bask in the radiant light of your truth.
The tools I have chosen for my personal full moon ceremony on Sunday are going to aid me in connecting to my higher self, and allowing what resonates with my truth to enter my life. I hope to give myself motivation and courage to work toward what I define as success for my life. Candles, incense, and crystals are the staples of my ceremonies.
The color of each candle creates ties to various chakras, places, and higher powers. I plan on using light blue candles to connect me to the angelic realm facilitating communication with the divine. Purple candles will instill spiritual awakening as I open my third eye to dimensions not seen. Lavender candles will connect me to the universe, and white candles will cleanse my space while opening my crown chakra to the source.
Incense can bring different energies to a space. For this ceremony, I want to use the planet to help ground me during this time of high spiritual frequency. I also plan on using the star to help fulfill my wishes and dreams that are aligned with my soul.
Finally, I create crystal grids to help increase the intensity of my intention. The main crystal for this ceremony is going to be Labradorite, the stone of transformation. Labradorite helps facilitate change with strength and perseverance as we fight for our true identity. It fills us with confidence and inspiration linking us to our intuition and awareness of our innate abilities. Labradorite also shields our aura and deflects unwanted negativity projected upon us by others.
Take flight toward your destiny as you harness your inner light. Connect to your true self during this time of extreme ups and downs. Practice gratitude and faith in yourself, your path, your decisions, and your guides as you undergo this transformation. It is not going to be easy, however, when is life ever a constant of simplicity? Life is an eternal continuous ebb and flow of change and uncertainty. The best we can do is open and unblock all channels allowing infinite possibilities to pass through us. I hope you are able to realize the truth of the beauty that lies within and around you Eternal Waking Beauties. Sending light and love!
As mentioned in my article Summer Solstice 2017, the sun is currently residing over the Tropic of Cancer. The astrological sign of Cancer is ruled by the moon, which governs our emotions. The moon also controls the tides having a strong effect on water, and Cancer is our cardinal, water sign.
Water signs experience emotions, intuition, and dreams on a grandeur scale than other signs. These traits are amplified by the moon as it harnesses the Divine Feminine Yin aspects of life such as our subconscious, introversion, empathy, time, softness, and our Mother Gaia. The sun is the polar opposite as it vibrates with the frequency of the Divine Masculine Yang energies of our conscious mind, extroversion, action, space, assertion, and the universe. Both the sun and the moon sit in the same astrological sign during a new moon. We are often asked to balance the divine masculine yang and divine feminine yin within us to promote harmony of masculine and feminine traits creating yin yang. Because the sun and moon are both in Cancer, we are asked to balance the two water traits previously mentioned: emotions and intuition.
Balance and Harmony
Lately, the masses have been undergoing moments of extreme emotions. Sometimes our feelings are dealt with a harsh, masculine abruptness of manic moments in bouts of intense anger and joy. Other times with a soft, gentile touch, we nurture our feelings of overwhelming sorrow and fear. It is important to find a balance as we experience each of these emotions by not allowing the masculine nor feminine to overpower us.
It is okay to feel each and every emotion as they should be felt, but we need to channel them in ways that are not detrimental to ourselves or anyone else. Practice focusing on the opposite feeling for each state if any one emotion is being held onto for a lengthy period of time. When angry, focus on what it feels like to be at peace. When joyful to the point of erratic delirium, focus on what it feels like to be calm. While feeling sorrow, focus on what it feels like to be content. And while afraid, focus on what it feels like to be safe and secure. Balancing our emotions allows us to experience our intuition more intensely.
As our intuition heightens people have been feeling the intense vibrations of the energy fields surrounding us from other individuals to the earth beneath our feet. Many have been undergoing a change in taste. Foods they once desired have become stale, bland, and downright unbearable. Some are experiencing intense visual stimulation as they are able to see energy waves and auric fields. Others are trying to fine tune their hearing as they are more sensitive to even the slightest noise. While experiencing each of these many want to do one of two extremes: act on our masculine instinct to tell the world and make a million lifestyle changes, or our feminine instinct to hide it from the world and pretend it doesn’t exist. These moments can be very exciting or terrifying depending on how comfortable we are with our intuition.
It is important to take it slow and allow it all to register before jumping into complete alterations of our lives. It is one thing to want healthy changes such as altering the foods we eat and creating an exercise regimen. However, if we overwhelm ourselves, it is easier to experience burnout. The desire to give up if we do not stick with all of the changes we have made is greater than slowly adding in one thing here or there. An example would be adding 2 hours of daily gym time to our schedule and becoming vegan in one day versus 3 days of an hour at the gym and eating only organic over the course of the next month. Then, adding an hour at the gym on those 3 designated days and taking out red meats for the next month. The gradual change as we up the ante on our goals each month will be an easier transition then jumping in eyes wide shut, and more beneficial than making no changes at all. The same goes with our spiritual intuition as our body becomes more accustomed to these new sensations.
The sun, moon, Mercury, and Mars are all in conjunction in the sign of Cancer. The outgoing sun and introverted moon allow for thoughtful and expressive communication while alongside Mercury. This is a time of high activity as the assertive sun and determined Mars pair with the social intellect of Mercury. Creative juices are flowing and movement toward attaining our goals has begun. We have made our plans and now we are acting upon achieving our dreams with thoughtful consideration at each junction.
Uranus sextiles both the sun and moon as we open to new ways of creating changes in our lives and in ourselves. Everything around us will become subject to question as we yearn to be unique individuals. We are able to rebel from what does not resonate with our souls on both a conscious and subconscious level. The lines that were once fuzzy have become clear in perfect focus as we steer our lives down our path of choice.
Saturn opposes both the sun and moon creating limitations at this time. We will find difficulty in wanting to have control over others and situations out of our hands leading to mistrust of others whether newly acquainted or longtime friendships. Now that we have mapped out the “perfect” plan to get us to our desired destination, we do not want anything to get in our ways. Every little mishap will perturb us, but we must remember that we will achieve our aspirations regardless of the bumps in the road or alternate routes we need to take.
We have thoughtfully scrutinized our course of action, and constructed a thorough blueprint. Now we are given the creatively motivated independence needed to put all of this planning into action thanks to the planetary aspects paired with the cardinal facet of Cancer.
New moons signify the beginning of a new cycle among us. I will be using red, orange, and yellow candles for a burst of fiery, creative, and determined energy to jettison me forward toward my goals. Paired with each will be the opposing color of green, blue, and purple to bring balance and harmony allowing a gentle calmness to my assertive willpower. My incense of choice are Amber for comfort, happiness and healing, and Sandalwood for protection, purification, and spiritual awareness. Lastly, my stone of choice to complete the ceremonial tools is a set of Boji Stones. Boji Stones are the only stones with a masculine and feminine pair to help us balance the yin and yang within. They are also grounding and protective allowing our true nature to flourish. I plan on writing down what I want for this new lunar cycle – harmonizing my divine masculine of yang and divine feminine of yin within me, taking steps one-by-one to reach my dreams, and remaining understanding and compassionate toward others and myself during this process. I like to keep my New Moon Lists and check off each accomplishment as they are completed. Happy manifesting Eternal Waking Beauties!
The Native American Algonquin tribe gave the Strawberry Moon its name due to the harvesting of this delicious fruit. Strawberries are the first fruit to ripen in the year, and can easily be found growing wild.
Because the leaves group in threes, they represent the holy trinity bringing about righteousness and spiritual integrity in Christian faith. Native Americans used the leaves as a blood purifier, diuretic, and anti-inflammatory. The heart-shaped strawberry symbolizes purity and passion giving us a sweet innocence with a twist of romance. Strawberries are one of the many crops of the rose family.
Europe coined this the Rose Moon due to the fact that strawberries are not native there. Roses are known to symbolize love in many forms depending on the color of the blossom: red signifies a passionate, romantic love, yellow – a love between friends, white – the purity of love, pink – the innocence of a first love, and lavender – a love of a spiritual nature. Roses also represent beauty, sensuality, and devotion.
The Strawberry, Rose Full Moon is a time of appreciation, romance, and ripening as the symbolism states. Gratitude for everything we already have brings contentment by lowering the desire held within our ego ultimately bestowing peace within ourselves. We are being reminded to enjoy the splendors of our labor shown in our accumulation of material wealth. This includes everything from money, to a roof over our heads, food in our stomachs, loved ones in our lives, and the enjoyment that comes with each attainment. Expressing gratitude brings a romantic energy into our lives.
People often believe romance is only between a coupled partnership. However, romance can be found in solitude as we soak up the beauty of our surroundings, the life captured in a flower as it breathes to the rhythm of the earth, or a sweet melody that pulls at our heart and moves us in ways we never thought possible. Romance is everywhere; we just need to have our hearts and souls open to receiving it.
Once we truly appreciate all that we have and discover the constant presence of romance in the world, we will be able to begin ripening as our soul opens and expands to the universe. We are reaching a point where we are blossoming fully into ourselves and our lives. As we reach the pinnacle of our ripened state, we will begin amplifying our awareness and aligning with our true path to fulfill our soul’s purpose. Self discovery is occurring among the masses over the course of this year. Now all we need to do is aim for our destiny.
Sagittarius is the centaur and archer. They are known to be enthusiastic, jovial, adventurous, spontaneous, and idealistic. Ruled by fire, this element enhances their power, passion, determination, and creativity. Sagittarius is also a mutable sign, which prepares for the change of a new season as we enter summer. Mutable signs are highly adaptable problem solvers, who are resourceful and detail oriented. Jupiter is the ruling planet of Sagittarius bringing good luck, prosperity, growth, and optimism.
Be prepared to find your inner fire as it surges creativity and passion into your life. Once we discover our goals, we will be able to enjoy every moment of the process with enthusiasm and an adventurous spontaneity. Not to say there won’t be difficult moments, but when we are aligned with our higher self, we are jettisoned toward our true purpose with ease. The fact that Sagittarius is a resourceful problem solver aids us immensely through this journey. Paired with Jupiter, we will be showered with an extra amount of magic bringing luck and prosperity. Jupiter will be placed in Libra during this lunar phase, so we will more likely be favored during moments of morality, giving, and philanthropy.
Three of our planets are placed in the zodiac sign they rule over.
The first is Mercury in Gemini. Mercury is the planet of our thought processes and communication, and Gemini is all about utilizing their intellect and speaking their truth. Self expression and sociability are going to be major factors during this lunar cycle. The needs of our soul will be met as we voice the truth of our higher selves and network to create the community we have been looking for (business associates, friendships, etc). It is important to work on connecting the higher three main Chakras during this time to facilitate accurate speech using our soul’s intellect over our ego’s.
Venus in Taurus is the second planetary and zodiac pairing. Venus is the planet of love, pleasures, and values as it rules over the earth sign of Taurus. Taurus is hardworking, nurturing, and enjoys routine and material comforts. This alignment is bringing stability and dependability into our daily schedule creating a strong foundation for everything to come. We are at a point where we will be accumulating more than enough worldly abundance. This allows us more freedom to harness the adventurous Sagittarius’s need to travel and try new things. The world is our oyster.
Lastly, we find Neptune in Pisces. Neptune is the planet of dreams, spiritual enlightenment, and compassion, while Pisces is highly sensitive, intuitive, and spiritual. This is going to open our sensitivity to the vibrations of the world and universe, and enhance our connection to our spirituality and souls. We are going to find ourselves noticing the ties we have with everyone and everything around us. As we open up to the realm of infinite possibilities we will align our subtle bodies and see truth with clarity. Record your dreams as these are lessons our soul is learning while our physical form is asleep. Notice any trends and address them while awake.
We are in the process of making a progressive transformation in the direction of our lives. For the past year we have been shedding our physical ego form to connect to our higher beings and raise our vibration, which in turn has lit up the collective consciousness allowing more to awaken. Each of us is going to find an innovative way to express our true self. As we shine in a unique way and make the connections needed to achieve our destiny, we are going to accumulate a vast amount of wealth on a soul level.
During the full moon, we are often in the process of releasing. In order to transform, the first step is letting go. Right now we are being asked to continue shedding the last remaining parts of our ego that we keep clutching as a safety blanket. Once we relinquish these final hooks from our soul, we will be able to manifest our destinies fully by connecting to our true form. The tools needed for this ceremony include sage, incense, candles, crystals, a pen, and paper.
In preparation for all of my lunar ceremonies, I create crystal grids with the main stone of choice in the center. For this ceremony, I have chosen Strawberry Quartz as the focal point.
Strawberry Quartz brings clarity and amplifies the properties of other stones around it. It also promotes love, gratitude, and generosity. As it balances and aligns our subtle bodies, we are able to gain insight and understanding into our purpose on a spiritual level. The Strawberry Quartz vibrates with the same energy of the Strawberry Full Moon, and is enhanced due to the planetary placements of this significant time.
Next, I smudge my space with white sage. I will begin by asking my guides of choice to be present, and help me release the last parts of my ego as I shed the final feathers of my plumage in my phoenix form. Using my left hand I rotate my sage bundle counter clockwise creating small circles. As I continue this motion in my wrist, I also form larger counter clockwise circles as I extend my arm. Once I complete three full rotations, I switch to my right hand and move clockwise in the same manner. Counter clockwise circles cleanse the space of old, stale energy that is charged, whereas clockwise circles draw in positive energy to my space. Finally, I light my incense and candles of choice.
I have chosen Red Rose incense for this particular ceremony. Red Rose is perfect for the Rose Full Moon by drawing in love and light. I plan on pairing my incense with pink, white, green, and lavender or violet candles. Pink candles will draw in more gentle love, white will help keep my space cleansed, green will ground me during this process, and lavender or violet will connect me to my higher self and universe. My intention is to release the facets of my self that are no longer needed with love as I express my gratitude for how they have helped me in the past.
I will picture a miniature form of myself bearing all of this fear, anger, resentment, pain, and behaviors that bring feelings of guilt and shame sitting in my palms. As I smile and thank her for all she has done to protect me to see that justice was served, I will give her a little kiss. From there I will let her know she does not need to harbor these feelings for me anymore because I intend on becoming an open channel allowing these feelings to flow through me without holding onto them. Lastly, I will give her one last kiss and set her free as she floats to the universe.
Once done with this process, I will record everything I want to unhook onto a piece of paper. As I write each aspect with loving intention, I visualize each hook releasing from my being. When I am finished with my list I will light it on fire with my pink or white candle. I chose fire to aid in my release since Sagittarius is a fire element. Once my list has completely turned to ashes, I will picture my phoenix form doing the same. Afterward, I thank my guides for being present and protecting me with love and light during this process. I continue to sit and meditate until my candles and incense have finished burning out.
I hope you receive this article with love. Happy releasing waking beauties!
The New Moon on May 25, 2017 at 1:45pm PST will be in the air sign of Gemini. Gemini is represented by a set of twins. The twins are often able to see different perspectives to every situation and have many varying interests. Because of this, Gemini is an indecisive sign and often stretches themselves very thin. You are more likely to find Gemini doing research until they know every detail about all of their options so they can make the most informed decision possible. This fits their air nature of intelligence and wit. Air signs are also independent, social, and charming. Gemini are also mutable signs, which prepare for seasonal transitions. Mutable signs are highly adaptable, problem solvers, who are detail oriented and resourceful. We are about to enter Summer, and Gemini is helping us transition from brand new, blossoming ideas to finding a steady footing and making concrete plans to reach our goals. Gemini is also ruled by the planet Mercury, which controls our communication and thought processes.
During this New Moon, our higher selves are trying to aid us in our forms of communication by teaching us to be soft and gentle with others. Even if we have good intentions, our body language and tone of voice do not always reflect the message we are trying to convey. This is often a roadblock Gemini face as they can be received as abrupt, blunt, and sometimes cold. We are being asked to be more open and accepting of others and embrace their differences, which is not difficult for most Gemini. However, we want them to FEEL welcome and accepted so it is important that we are aware of all forms of communication – not just what we say, but how we say it, what our body language is saying, and listening with sincerity.
Communication and self-expression are controlled internally by our throat chakra, Vishuddha. It is important that this chakra remains balanced during this time so we can speak our truth without feeling shame or guilt by expressing ourselves. There are many techniques to balance this chakra, ensuring that it is performing at its optimum level. Vishuddha is associated with the color blue, the element of sound, the Bij Mantra Ham, the key note G, the Dhyana Mudra, and yoga poses such as Halasana (plow pose) and Matsyasana (fish pose).
I personally meditate on the color blue as I repeat the mantra “Ham” while listening to singing bowls in the note of G with my hands in the Dhyana Mudra. I will follow my meditation with some Qigong exercises and yoga poses. I often have Sage, Rosemary, or Cedar wood burning throughout this process, and grid myself in blue crystals such as Lapis Lazuli, Blue Lace Agate, Blue Kyanite, and Blue Calcite. Once completed, throughout the day I find myself not only thinking before I speak using a gentle kindness, but I also notice that I LISTEN with a fine tuned, objective ear.
We often forget that listening is half of the communication process. Our higher selves are asking us to listen fully to what the others are saying non judgmentally with an open heart to ensure the most sincere and insightful responses. This is extremely important for the New Moon since everyone is going to want to be speaking their peace. Instead of thinking about what you are going to say next, fully process what you are hearing. Wouldn’t you want the same courtesy? Effective communication is extremely important in building all types of relationships whether family, friends, romantic partners, business associates, acquaintances, or even strangers in passing.
Note: The Dhyana Mudra is when we cross our fingers on the inside of our hands with palms face up and thumbs gently touching.
The planetary aspects on the night of the New Moon are going to have a major impact on our relationships with others. The planet we will be focusing on is Venus. Venus will be in the fiery sign of Aries allowing us to be more outgoing, charming, witty, and flirtatious. When Gemini is in a social mood theses characteristics tend to present themselves, and with this placement they will all be enhanced. You will find yourself taking initiative in social circles, business endeavors, and even in romantic encounters whether these qualities resonate with your personality or not. Be prepared to surprise yourself. Venus is sextile Mars bringing a lot of passion into each encounter. People will see the fire and intensity behind our words and body language.
There is going to be a huge back and forth between our ego and spirit as Venus trines Saturn and opposes Jupiter. We are going to have a tendency to want to show off in a pretentious and almost superficial manner to our cohorts, peers, and romantic prospects, while also remaining humble and sincere in partnerships. More confusion will be brought to the table as Venus is in conjunct with Uranus causing us to yearn for romantic experiences, yet refuse the overly sensual commitment to just one person. This aspect will, however, allow us to be more accepting of all people. Finally, Venus will square Pluto bringing forth many intense feelings of passionate love.
The passion mentioned with Pluto is different from that of Mars. Mars is enhancing our inner passion for the aspects of life that inspire us and call to our soul. Pluto’s passion is sexual, sensual, and intense on a physical, ego based level. Once we transcend the ego we are able to move beyond passion into the realm of unconditional love that is more intense than any passion ever experienced because it is on a soul level.
Our higher selves want us to enjoy the pleasures of the physical realm because it is a part of the human experience, however, we are being warned not to allow our souls to be consumed by this physical nature. It is requested that we remain humble, and experience all of these passions with unconditional love. This does not mean we need to attach ourselves to one person if we are single. A part of unconditional love is the ability to let go and understand that nothing and no one truly belongs to us in the physical world. So, we must live these passions and let go with a gentle, respectful love.
I encourage anyone performing any ceremonies this Thursday to have Blue Lace Agate present. Blue Lace Agate is a stone of truth. It not only allows us to speak our truth, but also encourages the act of listening with sincerity. Blue Lace Agate resonates with the throat chakra, and helps remove any blockages. There are many stones and crystals that promote communication, however, I believe Blue Lace Agate is most effective for this New Moon because it promotes soft and gentle forms of speech. This stone is very calming and gives the wearer a sense of peace and serenity.
I enjoy the presence of candles and incense during my ceremonies to enhance my intention. I encourage blue (preferably light blue), white, and lavender colored candles to facilitate the connection between your higher self and communication center. If the candles are reiki infused, I suggest the throat, third eye, and crown chakra candles, or spirit, harmony, peace, positive energy, and love votives. My incense recommendations would be Rosemary and Cedar wood (similar to my meditation) as they resonate with the throat chakra.
Since the New Moon is all about manifestation, I would suggest utilizing this ceremony to manifest what you want within yourself. How do you want to effectively communicate? What do you want to work on in social interactions? Are you having a hard time finding the right words to say? Do you think you are an effective listener? How do you want others to receive your words? Do you care how others perceive you? What do you want out of your various relationships? How will you make those goals a reality?
Take your time to really think everything through (as a Gemini would), and write it all down. Keep this list somewhere you will see it every day to remind yourself of the changes you want to make in yourself and your relationships. As you notice these manifestations occurring in reality, allow yourself to bask in your accomplishments. If you notice you fall short some days, forgive yourself because it is okay and we are all human. Learn from your mistake, and try to do better next time by remaining mindful. I hope you all received this New Moon report well. Happy manifesting Waking Beauties!

Note: I always sage my space prior to any meditation or lunar ceremony.
The full moon is a time of culmination, fruition, clarity, and attainment of desires. It is when we reflect on what patterns and behaviors have not been working, and we release them to the universe. The illumination of the full moon sheds light on our subconscious allowing a better understanding of our inner thoughts. It is a time of harvest when we are able to reap the benefits of what was sewn during the new moon. The full moon also represents the mother, since it is ripe and full similar to the belly of a pregnant, expecting mother. This brings a nurturing and fertile aspect to this lunar phase. However, some tension may arise as the polarity of the moon and sun are positioned in antithetical zodiac signs. Each month brings a new dichotomy of opposing forces, and a different type of full moon.
May’s Flower Moon
The Flower Moon is a time of invigoration as we become fully submerged into spring. The flowers blooming, baby birds chirping, and wild strawberries peeking through the grass bring new life filling us with an electric fervor as we embrace each day. With the sun on our faces and the wind at our backs, we are ready to take advantage of every moment gifted to us. The Flower Moon also brings a sense of refreshment and openness as we open our homes to the world around us cleaning out any remaining debris from winter. It is the perfect time for spring cleaning as we get rid of the clutter and organize our lives for the upcoming year. It is important to let go of clothing, furniture, and any other unused items around the house to allow an open flow of energy through our living space. While we clear out our environment, it is essential to make the same transformations within.
A Scorpio’s Transformation
Scorpio is the only zodiac sign that has three stages of three different animal totems symbolizing the transformation one makes. The first is that of the scorpion. During this phase, Scorpio is very true to it’s innate nature of being a water sign, and is ruled by their emotions and instinct. Oftentimes, they have low self-awareness and self-control. This dangerous combination creates a poisonous, vengeful creature who is willing to be manipulative and vindictive to get their way. When a Scorpio becomes aware of their power and abilities, they become an eagle soaring in the sky. While an eagle, their new perspective allows them to be ruled by intellect and rationale. This new lens of practicality launches them into one successful endeavor after another based on their personal goals. However, with the presence of their ego, Scorpios still have the tendency to be manipulative and exploitative. Once they are able to relinquish the existence of their ego, they are able to transcend to the final phase of a phoenix (or dove). The phoenix represents the death and rebirth of a Scorpio into a symbol of peace and healing. It is said that phoenix tears can heal wounds, and a Scorpio’s true nature lies in their power to heal. Once they become self realized about their true power and purpose they are able to flourish into their true nature.
Release & Regenerate
Scorpio is a fixed water sign giving qualities of loyalty, reliability, and goal oriented drive to the emotion based, whimsical attributes of water signs. They are also ruled by the planets Pluto and Mars. Pluto is the planet of death, regeneration, rebirth, and spiritual growth, which is what Scorpios undergo throughout their transformation stages. Mars is the planet of assertion and survival. Scorpio has to learn how to harness these qualities in a loving way in order to be effective. As our subconscious is being pulled to the surface, we are being asked to look at these aspects within ourselves to decide what needs to “die” and degenerate so we can be reborn into our spiritual truth. Awareness of our innate power and relinquishing our ego allows us to rise into our higher selves. With the sun in Taurus, we are able to remain grounded and practical during this major internal shift. Taurus also ensures that we gently nurture ourselves with love and compassion during this process. We must balance finding happiness with what we have and the complex unknown of possibilities that the opposition of the sun in Taurus and moon in Scorpio bring.
Some tools that can help during this process are incense, candles, and crystals. A perfect incense for this full moon is Frankincense and Myrrh. This winning combination promotes spirituality, meditation, and purification. Burning Frankincense and Myrrh during your full moon ceremony will facilitate the connection to your higher self. Some great candles of choice during this time are ones that will promote love, healing, and cleansing. Pinks, purples, and whites can enhance these properties. There are Reiki infused candle options as well. Lastly, the crystal of choice for the Flower Full Scorpio Moon on the 10th is Rainbow Obsidian, which releases energy blockages, heals past traumas, and shines light on unresolved issues. It is a grounding and protective stone since it is a part of the obsidian family, however, it is a bit more gentle and enhances love. With these tools surrounding you during the full moon, write down everything you see within yourself that you want to release in order to embrace your inner power of love and light. Writing itself is a form of release as you are detaching these aspects from your physical form by putting it on paper. This list can be in bullet form, and by no means needs to be the next literary masterpiece. Keep it simple and honest. Once you are finished, submerge your list into water, and picture everything you wrote down dissolving from your body and soul. When the ink has all lifted off of the parchment, the ceremony is complete. Be grateful by thanking your spirit guides for their presence and yourself for making time to self care and self love.
A new moon is when the sun and moon are in conjunction with one another and there is no light reflecting from the sun onto the moon making it appear as if there is no moon in the sky. Since the sun and moon are pulling from the same direction our subconscious is able to surface to the forefront of our conscious mind. Our true dreams and desires express themselves to help guide us on our path and fulfill our life’s purpose. This lunar phase is the end of one cycle and the beginning of another allowing for a fresh start. It is often an opportune time to set our intentions to manifest what is needed to reach our goals whether it is buying a house, finding the perfect job that resonates with our soul, or taking a well needed vacation. Both the sun and moon will be in the astrological sign of Taurus amplifying both the masculine and feminine energies of this sign.
Taurus – The Earth Bull
Taurus is an earth sign making them hardworking, stable, logical, and oftentimes stubborn companions. The bull is also a fixed modality. Fixed signs are the strong foundations of the zodiac, who preserve tradition and are loyal and dependable. Venus is the ruling planet over Taurus, and represents love, nurturing, money, pleasure, and values. The new moon in Taurus is encouraging us to really figure out where we want to build a solid foundation, what we want to fill its contents with, and how we plan on going about our construction. Having the suns presence is the push we need to really make these tangible blueprints a reality. What areas of your life need stabilizing? Write out the logical steps to create this life you want. Remember that even baby steps are a form of movement. Be loving and nurturing toward yourself during this process. Enjoy the work you put into your manifestations, and allow yourself time to relax and recharge. Sturdy foundations take time, so have faith that divine timing is serving you and your higher purpose.
Master Builder 22
The date of this new moon in Taurus (4/26/17) adds up to equal the master builder number, 22, allowing us to build strong foundations and relationships through balance, harmony, expansion, and evolution. 22 enhances our ability to manifest our highest ideals and desires, and to work diligently on our life path to accomplish our soul’s purpose. The master builder is amplifying what the sun and moon in Taurus are urging all of us to do – begin again from the bottom. Look around you for signs from the infinite, divine universe, and explore within to create and build upon your greatest aspirations. We are being propelled forward by the many forces of the moon, the universe, the zodiac, numerology, our spirit guides, and most importantly, ourselves! The time is now to utilize all of these amazing synchronicities to our advantage by harnessing our intuition and innate talents. Allow yourself to explore every aspect of who you are to express your essence creatively building the infrastructure of your life.
