Harvest Moon

The harvest moon is when all of your hard work and loving care has left you a bounty of delicious crops from cranberries to sweet potatoes. This time leaves you abundant as you reap your well deserved reward. What have you put all of your energy toward over this past year? We are soon to celebrate the autumnal equinox, and must show gratitude as we begin to unwind.

Appreciate all of the little things, for you never know how really big they could be. There are so many wonderfully prosperous blessings coming to us all. Be thankful for all gifts that are received, both big and small. Remember some are puzzles, so keep a jovial innocence about what is to come.

Pisces Full Moon

Pisces is a fun labyrinth of exploring ideas and feelings as they try to balance these two beautifully entwined phenomenon. Harmony is key in this sign as intuition is fed an array of knowledge. The fish always seeks to continue on their path laid before them.

Pisces consists of two fish who have their tails tied together in the abyss of the night sky. This places them at odds for sometimes one will push one way, while the other pulls in opposition. Our heads may be tugging at us one way, while our hearts cling for the other shore. Our bodies may be frozen due to our soul’s persistent cautions during the time of a Pisces full moon.

Planetary Aspects

There are many favorable aspects in the night sky as Saturn trines Mercury, Venus, Uranus, and sextiles Jupiter. Saturn helps us know our limitations (working 60 hour weeks without self care), create boundaries (let someone know you will not allow their inappropriate behavior in your space), and free ourselves from restrictions unjustly placed upon us (beliefs we are limited and unable to make choices in life). Mercury will be aiding us in communicating each scenario presented by Saturn due to the favorable trine aspect. Our voices will be pure and heard. Venus brings a soft, loving flare to the dynamic allowing for a tender touch among all the drastic shifts. Jupiter gives us a favorable outcome achieved with considerable ease as it sextiles Saturn.

Uranus trines Mercury and Mars – opposing Jupiter. Uranus, the planet of progression (on day 5 of your new work out routine), ingenuity (devising a new way to organize the Q: drive), and intuition also trines Mercury creating effective communication. Mars brings an instinctual assertion to our need for these creative changes altering our lives for the better. With Jupiter in a harsh aspect, we are going to have to work hard and remain persistent to uphold a true transformation.

Pluto sextiles the moon and Neptune while sitting trine the sun. We continue on our path of spiritual growth as we hit another point of renewal creating a rebirth into our soul with Pluto. Our balance in harmonizing the divine masculine and feminine within is done at a conscious and subconscious level thanks to the moon and sun. Dreams have set sail on a sea of inspiration, while our compassion grows nurturing spiritual enlightenment as Neptune helps us ascend to our true form.

The Koi and the Dragon

There is a story of hard work and determination that begins with a school of golden koi swimming upstream the Yellow River in China. The school came across a waterfall, where most allowed the current the carry them downstream. Only a few continued to persist through their obstacle, and launched themselves toward the heavens. After 100 years, one reached the top of the waterfall and transformed into a golden dragon symbolizing imperial royalty and strength.

This story motivates people to remain steadfast and tenacious along their path for the reward will be worth every challenge. Every obstacle is a chance at growth and transformation for the better. Once we return to our souls by lovingly shedding our ego, we will be able to harness our inner dragons.

Picture a koi who acts like it is a dragon, but knows it’s a koi, yet is truly a dragon, and will remain a koi until it lets go of the ego to assume its true form. We are each this koi. Some of us are not able to grow because we act like a dragon with an inflated sense of self (ego), while others believe they are just koi with a deflated sense or self (also ego). Once either or both of these forms are released, we can harness our true nature of the mystical dragon.

Ceremony Tools

For this ceremony my stone of choice will be the pearl. Dragons are known to play with pearls, and create them from their spittle as they fly through the air. They are said to have properties that promote faith, integrity, and purity. Pearls are linked to a mix of earth and water elements for they are created from particles of sand, and hail from the ocean. They are also linked to the moon bringing out the inner goddess to balance emotions while enhancing sincerity and loyalty. The moon and rain forest incense will make a wonderful pair refreshing and cleansing the air around me. Suggested oils or resins would be sandalwood and dragon’s blood. White, light and dark blue candles to aid in cleansing, divine connection, and tranquility will bring a peaceful contentment.

Enjoy your full moon Eternal Waking Beauties. May you all be blessed and surrounded by unconditional love.

Lughnasadh is an Irish Gaelic and Pagan holiday celebrating the beginning of harvest season. Lugh, the Celtic God of the Sun, ages as the days get shorter, and the weather begins to cool. He transfers all of his energy from the sun into crops such as corn and grain sacrificing himself for the sake of human life. Crops are not only harvested, but seeds from summer fruits are also planted or saved at this time. Lughnasadh is often celebrated with a large feast, athletic competitions, holy well offerings, and matchmaking.

The Sun God, Lugh, was also known for many skills in various arts. He was a craftsman, blacksmith, harpist, poet, historian, physician, and sorcerer. Lugh was also a warrior who wielded the Invincible Spear, one of the Tuatha De Danann treasures that never missed its target. He stood by the Goddess Dana to help free the Tuatha De Danann from Balor. The Evil Eye of Balor had the power to kill anyone who looked into it. Lugh was able to defeat Balor, his grandfather, as foretold by a prophecy. Later in life, he learns how to cultivate the land after he became the new King of the Tuatha De Danann.
