Chapter 1 Paragraph 1 & 2

The rays of sun burnt my skin leaving a pinkish hue that blazed inside me. A bead of sweat rolled down my forehead to my brow. The stiffening heat was finally thwarted when a strong brisk of wind broke through the thick air. The hairs on the back of my neck prickled with the refreshing burst of air flow. Jen, my closest friend, was short in stature but thick. Thick in body structure and thick skinned. Her harshness matched her dark luscious hair. Her skin glistened in the sun. The sand was cooler as I dug my feet deeper into the small grains of earth. It was time to run into the salty water that lied before us. “Almost time for class…” she sighed with a heavy heart that made me feel the weight of her words. I did a quick dip and returned to my scattered clothes that were baking in the sun’s heat. Their warmth felt good against my cooled off skin. We parted ways once we returned to the dorms and it was off to class.

The absent minded droning rang through my ears as the professor went on some wild tangent about his overly inflated ego. He enjoyed making up multiple syllabic words in order to reclaim his superiority over a fresh crop of first years. Luckily it was an amphitheater of 800 students; so sleeping, popping in some ear buds, or doodling went unnoticed. Then there she was. Her caramel skin was unparalleled. It looked as if she was fabricated from silk. Her honey colored eyes shone vibrant under the fluorescent lights. She had an A-line bob that was longer on one side lightly grazing her voluptuous bust. She had to be a 34 D and had a perfectly symmetrical hour glass figure. Even though she had curves she had a petite frame adding a delicacy to her. Being able to voyeur at her beautiful perfection was the main reason I attended the class. All of the lecture slides were available on line so there was no real reason to waste an hour of my time listening to some pompous know-it-all tirade about his magnificence. One day I would muster up enough courage to approach her.

This book has taught me to appreciate the simplicity of life and gratitude for everything around me and inside of me. We are so busy pushing, trying, and struggling daily to “make things happen.” Once we are able to let go and allow the ebb and flow of the natural energies and divine timing to work in our favor, we are able to be serene, happy, and receiving. It is amazing how much the little things really do add up in positive and negative ways based on how we perceive it. We let work, other people, finances, and so much more get in the way of what’s truly important in life. Yes, we must be responsible and take care of what needs to be taken care of, however, this is not the extent of our purpose on this earth. Life is to be enjoyed with loved ones and love is to be extended to all including ourselves! We deserve the best that life has to offer because we work hard, have moral standards, and allow everything out of our control to just be. I have been able to reduce my stress and anxiety with the help of these teachings and I advise everyone to give this book a read!⠀⠀
