The past 2 years we have had a lot of Artemis and Amazonian archetype Virgo New Moon energy. This has brought forth powerful, courageous warriors with a nurturing heart. This year the Virgo New Moon blesses us with a different type of feminine energy. That of our Native American ancestor, Grandmother Spider. She wove her web to create the universe and is granting us the same energy to create our own worlds. Right now we are manifesting something great for the rest of this lifetime. Who’s going back to school? Who just switched careers? Who just got married? Who is expecting a baby? These are major shifts that we are manifesting to create the trajectory for the rest of our lives to fulfill our life’s purpose. ⠀

• • • ⠀ ⠀

Grandmother Spider also created the Earth. We are being compelled to make changes to protect our earth, our home. With everything going on in the world such as the Amazon on fire, Indonesia on fire, deforestation, plastic waste, and other atrocities, we are being called to be the saviors of our planet. Whether we choose to donate to a non profit that works toward fighting for our earth, volunteering to plant a tree, cleaning up garbage on our daily hike, or lowering our own waste production, now is the time more than ever to act upon that urge. A little goes a long way, and out environment is a reflection of ourselves. Who are we as a society? As a collective whole?⠀ ⠀ ⠀

• • • ⠀ ⠀

Lastly, Grandmother Spider created the four branches of humans – yellow, red, white, and black. She tethered us all together with her sturdy silken web to remind us we are all connected to each other and the universe. It is time to strengthen the bonds between each other, and upkeep the connections we need in this lifetime. Try to hold compassion for one another as we move forward with our destinies.⠀

What they don’t teach you…

⚠️Warning: long post where reading is necessary. Pregnancy complications will be discussed. Trigger warning for anyone who had undergone these conditions.⚠️

When getting pregnant we don’t hear a lot about all of the misfortunes and symptoms that come with prenatal conditions.

Some we hear about are miscarriages – pregnancy loss of natural causes before 20 weeks, gestational diabetes – when blood sugar levels are too high during pregnancy which can actually lead to preeclampsia and can be fatal, and depression – postpartum to be exact which occurs after the baby is born.

Maybe some of you are more familiar with others such as placenta previa when the placenta covers the uterine wall which can cause painless bleeding during the second and third trimester, however, hospitalization and birth problems can occur. Or what about placenta abruption? Where the placenta separates from the inner uterine wall and can be so severe the baby will not be able to receive oxygen and nutrients to survive.

This is not to scare anyone out of pregnancy. This is not to say everyone will have to survive through one of these conditions while pregnant. This is just to educate. Because I had no idea about what an ectopic pregnancy was until I lived through it.

I had never heard of it until my doctor kept saying we needed to check for it. Ectopic pregnancies are when the fertilized egg implants itself outside of the uterus. The egg cannot survive and can cause serious damage to nearby organs. Apparently it’s so rare that it’s not something that needs to be worried about. Except, it can be fatal.

I had only known I was pregnant for 2 weeks when I went in for my first ultrasound and they couldn’t find anything in my uterus. I was sent to radiology to see if they could find anything. I was told I was fine and that I could go home. Once home I called the doctor for the results the radiologist technician wouldn’t clearly give me just to say, “I’m not sure why they told you to go home, but you need to come to the emergency room immediately. It’s ectopic on your left side.” We left for the ER.

Once there we were admitted with ease. The doctor did her due diligence to ensure we were taken care of. A clueless doctor, nurse Jackie, and 4 hours later we were told the doctor was in a Caesarean Section Operation so another doctor would be administering the shots of methotrexate that is used on cancer patients. Wait…what?! Apparently it’s in its most diluted form but it reduces the amounts of folic acid in the body which is what a healthy fetus feeds upon.

I got the shots and was allowed to leave. I had to come in to get 2 more labs done to watch hormone levels over the next 7 days. (One had been taken earlier that evening). There was still a chance of rupture that would cause excessive bleeding or severe abdominal pain in which case I would have to rush myself to the ER.

Not eating anything with folate or folic acid for a week was difficult. The American government injects folic acid into practically everything to lessen the chance of birth defects – cereal, noodles, wheat, (beer included), rice, everything. It naturally occurs in leafy greens (and all vegetables at levels I couldn’t eat) and fruits (minus apples and blueberries). I was limited to meat (I had just begun to eat meat more regularly and was considering stopping again), dairy (milk, yogurt, and certain shredded cheese makes me sick), and chocolate. Needless to say I felt disgusting and was already breaking down my body’s health system.

My next doctors appointment had cleared me from eating garbage the rest of my life. I was in good condition and was told to take it easy over the next 2 weeks since anything could still happen. I had felt fine aside from the dietary regimen. I was also still trying to process everything that had happened over a short 3 week span.

After another week passes and everything still feels alright and my life is busy with work, I decide to get on a spin bike. As I spin, I feel it. I felt the rupture. I felt the blood filling my abdomen. I grabbed my things and told my boss I was going to the ER. I was asked if I needed a ride and said I was just heading over there and it wouldn’t be long.

I called the ER, told them I was on my way. I called my husband, asking that he come and be present. My head started spinning and my hands and arms began to go numb. I told him I felt like I was dying. He told me to pull over and call for an ambulance. I got into a parking lot and called 9-1-1. The paramedics were on their way. I turned to grab my purse in the backseat only to find that was not possible in this state. I just kept breathing.

I could hear the ambulance. I was asked my name, what was going on, if I had insurance, and which hospital to go to. I requested my purse be grabbed as I answered their questions and we headed toward Roseville.

The pain was so tremendous I couldn’t recline. Every little breath, touch, or movement shot pain like I never felt throughout my entire body. Finally we were there, my mom was there, dad was in the waiting room, Freddy short after. We waited for a room, finally got a nurse, finally got pain meds. I was knocked out.

When I woke up I was near radiology for an ultrasound and the meds were wearing off. I asked for more. The doctor realized I was a lightweight and only gave me half. The radiology tech couldn’t believe how sensitive I was. Before I knew it we were back in the room waiting. Thank God for pain meds.

The doctor who just started her shift was reading up on me then came in explaining the surgery that was needed. Depending on the severity I would need one or both Fallopian tubes removed and/or one or both ovaries. There was a possibility of never being able to have a child again.

I went to pre-op right away and met my anesthesiologist and nurse who would be in the OR with me. Once in the OR I was instructed of all things to lie flat. The one thing that hurt the worst in all my life. I could feel fluid rushing up into my chest suffocating my lungs as I writhed with pain. The anesthesiologist gave me a dose of numbing magic shortly followed by the general anesthetic.

I woke up surrounded by my husband, mother, and father. And of course, there were popsicles! I was in surgery for 2 hours. There was over a liter of blood in my abdomen that they had to clean out. Half was put back into my body. I had my left Fallopian tube removed with the blueberry sized clot. I was filled with air, but the meds were still kicking. I was sent home.

While home these past few days I have had trouble sleeping, getting up and down, walking, going to the bathroom, basically everything. Little things like coughing, sneezing, crying, and laughing are the most painful sensations I can experience.

It’s been 4 days and I was hoping to be recovered to the point of returning to work already. The doctor said to take it slow – up to 2 weeks in fact. I also cannot try to have children for another 4 months due to the methotrexate they injected me with.

Not being able to do every day tasks alone is unsettling. Knowing I could have died is even more surreal. The fact that all of this is happening still hasn’t fully registered. Now it is all about being patient with my body and allowing myself the time and space to heal.

My heart goes out to anyone who has to experience anything relatively similar to this and I would not wish this experience on anyone. Please don’t feel sorry for me. That was not my intent. I just wanted people to know and be aware of what can happen. If someone else out there is experiencing this or has experienced this, my heart is with you and I don’t know your exact pain but I can relate.

Women are strong and resilient mentally, emotionally, and physically. Our partners who stand by our sides through all of this are loving and incredible beings. All of our other loved ones who are supportive and present never cease to amaze me. Thank you to everyone who has been loving, kind, and supportive through all of this chaos that I am living. I appreciate all of you, and feel loved.

Spring Equinox and Libra Full Moon 2019

Josephine Wall “Joie de Vivre”

Have you gotten used to the ebb and flow of releasing and accepting yet? Do you feel as if you are undulating in the vast sea of life as a single tendril of kelp clinging to the ocean floor while reaching for the sun? Yet we are so expansive in our own right within our existence. Keep moving with the ever changing current as the only thing you hold onto is your solid footing on the earth’s surface.

Can you feel the last remnants of hurt, resentment, and suffering flake off? Or did it peel like a separate layer of skin? Did it reverberate as a burst of energy shot it out of your very soul? Some like to release it to the moon, others to the earth.

Whatever works for you is how it was meant to be and it is alright. These releases come in many forms. Anger. Tears. Written words. Music. Dancing. Singing. Meditating. None is better than the other it just is. The sooner we accept ourselves and our process, the easier it is to let go.

Learn from your mistakes.
Forgive others for theirs.
Accept your emotions and how you process.
Practice healthy ways of being.
Let go and let love always be the answer.

It began as just a flicker, and now it is a flame. It’s is billowing and glowing inside of you and expanding out into the universe. Keep fanning the flames of your heart and follow your passion. Let the light of your soul shine bright as you glide along the path you desire to tread upon. You are on your way to manifesting your purpose.

You have done it all along, and now you arrive at your conscious epicenter of your soul creating what you have always desired. A life you love. Soak up the rays of your own lights beauty and bask in its radiant glory.

Welcome home to the body you once felt was so foreign. Welcome to the life you have dreamed of for all these years. Welcome the power that has been awaiting your presence. Are you ready to manifest your greatness?

Last year, 2018 (2+0+1+8 = 1+1 = 2), was all about balance and relationships. We worked on how to balance all of our many facets of life such as work, school, family, friends, hobbies, sports, eating, spirituality, and self. As we learned what works and what does not work for us, we were able to create a schedule that allows us to have a balanced life. With relationships we learned how to put up boundaries, cut ties with those who were toxic, and cultivate those that were healthy.  So it’s kind of perfect that the last full moon of the winter of 2018 and first full moon of the spring of 2019 was in Libra.

Libra is our sign of balance and is ruled by air craving the need of understanding and knowledge. They are ruled by Venus so everything is done with love and passion. This full moon in Libra has helped us with the final release anything that is failing our sense of balance with our spheres in life, and any relationships that are hindering our growth. Letting go of these past constraints has been done in a gentle, loving manner so we can move forward into our first true days of 2019 as we enter spring.

The spring equinox fully launches us into 2019 (2+0+1+9 = 1+2 = 3). The year of 3 is a time of great expansion, growth, travel, sociability, and creativity. We are being inspired to embrace our true form and extend it beyond ourselves into the world. As we shine our light, we are beckoning others who vibrate at the same frequency toward us. This is going to be an amazing year of making deep, solid connections and friendships at a soul level that will last throughout this lifetime.

As we expand our horizon among others, we are going to also expand ourselves to visit new places we have never explored and soak in the beauty that surrounds us on this earth. When we travel we learn how to survive, embrace other cultures, and see the world through a whole new lens allowing for inner growth as well!

This year also challenges us to be creative. When we create we are playful and are able to manifest many beautiful things. Maybe you’re inclined to create music, dance to express yourself, paint to share your vision of the world, write to expose your true feelings, speak to inspire others, or cook to show your appreciation and gratitude for food and your body.

There are so many ways we can be creative whether it is in our day-to-day work, seemingly daunting tasks such as cleaning (which can be fun!), or our beloved hobbies that enchant our souls. No matter what it is that calls to you, do it! And do it with love.

Mercury RX in Pisces 2019

Josephine Wall “Ocean of Dreams”

This mercury retrograde is all about uncovering the true thoughts of your soul. What have you been suppressing and hiding from? Well, it’s about to all surface in a big way. Be prepared to feel tired, unhinged, and impatient as we explore the deep facets of our true form.

We have heard whispers and felt inklings of tugs and pulls this way and that the past 2 years of mercury retrogrades. We began at the surface as we fell apart, and now we are digging deep headed straight to the root of our problems within this life. Get ready to be soft, gentle, and kind to yourself through this process. There may be crying, yelling, cursing and a number of uncomfortable reactions as we bring this all to light. But that’s the purpose, right? To be light. To feel light. Both the warmth and brightness of the sun, and lifting the weight from our core to allow us to physically lighten as we let go of the heavy burdens of our past.

This word has a special meaning for me because I was able to forgive others, but never myself. Right now we are healing through this forgiveness of our decisions and everyone else’s that has caused us to hold onto these moments, these actions, these words that have caused us so much pain. As our bodies tense up at each of these memories we become more dense restricting oxygen flow as we slowly torture our bodies.

Let go. It’s okay to forgive. This process is not easy and you need to know that. Be patient with yourself when you don’t get over everything right away because that’s not how life works. Maybe there’s nothing that surfaces for you right away, and you don’t understand who you’re supposed to forgive. It will come. We need this so badly right now so we can fully enter the year of 3 at the beginning of the zodiac year on the day of the Spring Equinox.

Take your time.
Get your rest.
Cry your heart out.
Heal your soul.
You got this!

New Moon in Scorpio

Antahkarana – Spiral of Spiritual Illumination Energy

Can you feel it? Your rebirth is towards the stages of completion as you emerge in your new truest form. Have you noticed? The vibrant sensations of cleansed and pure energy! This past weekend we experienced an extreme download that shifted us in the final moments of transformation. November is a time of manifestation and balance in numerology since it is our 11th month. This paired with the new moon in Scorpio, the new cycle of years as we wind down the year of 2, and Diwali (the Hindu Festival of Lights as we shine light across the world to break through the darkness) is really allowing us to move into our new (real) form of conscious beauty. It has been a long time coming, a process, hard work, and quite the journey. Embrace this new feeling, this new perception, and this new life for it is the one you were always destined to live. Blessings have been occurring in many shapes and forms this month, and we are to be grateful for each one as we give thanks. Scorpio is all about death and rebirth and the new moon is a time of birth and beginnings. Have you been healing and growing and allowing the grueling painstaking process to move through you? If you have, this is a beautiful time for you and your life. Have you been begrudgingly forcing things to remain the same and resisted every opportunity for change? If so, this will be a difficult and tumultuous time. It’s okay to let go. It’s okay to surrender. It’s okay to be vulnerable. It’s okay to allow life to be as it is. It’s okay to be accepting. Everything will be okay if you allow it to be. Enjoy this beautiful time eternal waking beauties, for it is our time of sustainable happiness and contentment as we embrace our true form. Blessings be with you and may you be filled and surrounded by light and love!

Mars Retrograde

Photographer: Unknown, Artist: Unknown, Edited by Eternal Waking Beauties

Mars: The Forgotten God

All too often we refer to our well-known Greek deities while forgetting about their Roman counterparts. Today, we will reflect back on our misunderstood God of War. Mars was the protector of Rome. He was a level-headed strategist who defended the city’s borders. Mars is also the father of Romulus and Remus who were the founders of Rome. It is said that Mars loved the sound of battle and the violence of war. However, he also protected cities from invading armies and helped soldiers fight against rebellion. So, what was the true face of Mars? Was he some ruthless, blood-thirsty barbarian? Or an intellectual strategist who defended the city he loved and believed in the rules of combat? I cannot say I know, but I believe he had a set of ethics he followed when it came to protecting the city he was passionate about.

Mars: The Home of Men

Our fiery planet, Mars, is often associated with war, anger, lust, and violence. However, we tend to forget or misinterpret the concepts of courage, strength, masculinity, ambition, and passion that are other defining attributes of the planet as well. Strength doesn’t have to be physically forceful just like how masculinity doesn’t have to be this tough macho man that is constantly depicted. Courage can be found within the smallest being and ambition can be gentle yet unwavering. When we rethink about these ideals and what is really being conveyed any gender and any creature can harness these energies in a soft and loving manner.

Mars: My Retrograde Interpretation

For this Mars retrograde I truly feel most are missing the mark. We have forgotten that passion is what fuels each of us to act. Right now our passions that have been ruminating in our subconscious are breaking through to the forefront of our minds and giving us the courage and ambition to act or maybe even go to war. We are at a point where we are willing to fight for what we believe in and stand for morally, ethically, and spiritually.

What we once feared to say or express we are now more than ever figuring out ways to fully embrace and let it be known. It is okay to be passionate about various pursuits in life whether it’s to become a leading tetherball player, stand up to the bully at school, tell our parents we want to play the piano instead of soccer, sing not caring who is listening, pursue the career we have always wanted, or even let our partner know we don’t love when they leave the lids off everything. No matter what it is, it is okay to be honest and forthcoming.

We have been working on ourselves for so long. These past couple of years have been helping us cut ties, heal, connect to our higher selves, see clearly, and love fully. Now we are being asked to put it all in motion and really harness the energies of Mars, muster up all of our courage and strength, and be prepared for the battle of our lives: to live with passion and purpose.
